Featured article: Grand Crafting Puzzle Project, Round 3


Feedback for Round 3 of the Grand Crafting Puzzle Project will begin on December 7th. There are four complete puzzles and two rough-draft puzzles up for consideration for furnishing, the final crafting puzzle. Once you've played them all, make sure to leave general feedback in the GCPP forum.

Featured puzzle - Fredi
Gilthead is a block stacking puzzle.

Objective: Stack blocks to make table legs strong enough to bear a given weight. The more attractive the legs are (based on vertical and horizontal matching), the better.

Play the prototype and give feedback in the forum.

Featured puzzle - Loosejaw
Carp is a rolling cube puzzle.

Objective: Arrange colored cubes into required shapes and patterns.

Play the prototype and give feedback in the forum.

Mariggle is a block-drop/shape-making puzzle.

Objective: Rotate and arrange blocks at the top of the screen before dropping them, all while trying to create complex furniture patterns.

Puzzle Pirates is a grand work in progress, with a constantly evolving stream of new puzzles, prizes, and fun. Many of you have great ideas for new additions to the game, and now you have a chance to directly affect the course of Puzzle Pirates history and help us to create the next amazing crafting puzzle!

Crafting Puzzle Project Forum




Express your Interest
A sign-up page has been created to allow people to express their interest in helping with the project in various capacities. Go there and let people know you want to help!

Signing up on that page is not a guarantee you'll get to do what you've signed up for, and not signing up doesn't disqualify you from submitting ideas or helping out later. It's just a way to organize people and gauge support.

Process for Entries
Before submitting any proposals, make sure to check out Bia's Original Announcement and other Useful YPPedia Links such as the Crafting puzzle dimensions. We are looking for single player crafting puzzles for Tailoring, Weaving, and Furnishing, as well as multiplayer cooperative puzzles for Foraging and Construction.
It is strongly encouraged that any user unfamiliar with wikis take a look at the Yppedia Help Page and the How To Pages.
Create a YPPedia Page showcasing your Crafting Puzzle Design and use the Proposal Template.
Use the proper naming convention as shown in the template "GCPP:Proposal-(Fishname)". Fishnames should be chosen from this list.
Publicize your design on the Crafting Puzzle Project Forum
Discussion of the Crafting Puzzle Design will mainly occur within the thread but may also occur in the Talk Space of the proposal's YPPedia page.
Selection Process to be determined. Top Puzzle Designs will be prototyped on Game Gardens.
